June 2019 CHARITY OF THE YEAR – GLOUCESTERSHIRE WHEELS FOR ALL

DONATIONS UPDATE AND THANKS!

One of our members has collected her donations and has paid in a whopping £155.00 to the club’s JustGiving fundraising page. This now brings the total raised to an impressive £433.00 and these funds will go directly to our Charity of the Year, Gloucestershire Wheels for All.

The Wheels for All initiative is a nationally recognised programme that embraces all children and adults with disabilities and differing needs, to engage in a quality cycling activity. By using specially adapted cycles, anyone can take part whether they have a sensory, physical or learning disability.

The club will aim to raise as much as possible by the end of the year in order that this amazing charity can carry on providing cycling opportunities for disabled people.

WHAT WILL OUR DONATIONS BE WORTH?

• £5 gives a person a Wheels for All experience
• £50 goes towards cycle training sessions for children with special needs
• £500 pays for a new Wheels for All centre tricycle

Festival of Cycling 19 May 2019

On behalf of the club, a MASSIVE thank you to members for helping with our stall and guided rides at the Cheltenham Festival of Cycling.

Thank you also to all the Dames that popped by to say hello and to support the club. It was really appreciated.

It was an amazing day. Pittville Park was buzzing with demo bikes, races, and coaching, and stalls on Tommy Taylors Lane were constantly busy.

Just looking at the incredible number of people there were, and the smiles on people’s faces, I do believe that this was a fantastic success not only for our club but also for the local community.

Birmingham Velo 100 May 2019

On May 12th members of the club took part in the Velo Birmingham event, as always the weather played cat and mouse until the very last minute. A truly successful event and a huge well done to all those that took part.
