Go-Ride is a British Cycling (BC) initiative that has been in place for a number of years, that offers controlled systems and procedures for cycling organisations to adopt in order that they can offer a safe and structured environment in which children and vulnerable people can learn the basic skills of cycling. This means that such organisations are required to have trained Coaches and Welfare Officers in place to become a British Cycling Registered Club and then to fulfil the stringent standards of Clubmark before becoming a BC Accredited Club.

Our Club which was formed in early 2009, immediately registered with BC as we already had a coach and welfare officer in place and qualified, after a lot of hard work, for Clubmark status in May 2010.

With the help of funding from Sport England, Mark Burford has embarked on his Level 2 Activity British Cycling Coaching Course, which he hopes to complete in September 2016.  Mark has extensive experience in coaching football and kayaking and we are fortunate that he is now extending his wealth of experience to cycling.

Additionally, a further two members of the Club are awaiting suitable Level 1 BC Courses and we hope that we will soon have the additional resource to further develop the Club’s coaching facility.

The Club has been in Partnership with Stourport High School since its inception with the support of their PESSCO Lorraine Hammond and runs regular after school sessions on Thursday afternoons, each lasting between one and one and a half hours.
