The Prostate Cancer Charity 2010 Tour Rides Announced


Following a successful entry into the world of sportives last year, The Prostate Cancer Charity, in partnership with The Tour of Britain, is pleased to announce they will stage a further three events in 2010. Cyclists will have the unique opportunity to measure themselves against the pro riders, taking on one or more stages of The 2010 Tour of Britain, going the full distance of 150km, or taking on a challenging 70km.

New Harrogate Cycle Path


Cyclists in Harrogate can now avoid the busy Wetherby Road thanks to a new cycle path which will open through the Great Yorkshire Showground on Tuesday 12 January. The path has been constructed on the Showground to allow walkers and cyclists to gain direct access to Crimple Lane and beyond from the south side of Harrogate.

Three New Coastal Cornish Cycle Tours for 2010


Cornwall's spectacular coastline is the focus for three new self-guided cycling tours from a specialist holiday operator. Cornish Cycle Tours has created two new routes for 2010: the seven day South Coast Tour visits many of Cornwall's famous landmarks; while two versions of the Coast to Coast Tour link the tranquil south coast and spectacular surfing beaches of the North Cornish coast in a circular route.

Return of the King (of the Downs)


The news sportive riders have been waiting for (or avoiding) is here: the King of the Downs Super Sportive is back for 2010, taking place on Sunday 23rd of May. Organised by Evans Cycles Ride It!, the event takes on 113 miles and 10 major climbs - entries are now open for what some call the hardest sportive in the South East.

South West Cyclocross League Finals


Crisp wintery conditions and an unusual blue sky greeted the South West riders for the tenth and final round of the South West league calendar. The Team Certini event returned to Plymouth's Central Park for the second year and a modified, more flowing, course was well accepted by all.

South West Conference League Presentation


Poole club sponsor Dave Tarr was delighted to present the SWL Conference League trophy to the riders who form the spearheaded of the Dorset club's rapidly improving youth squad.

Report: South West CX League Round 8


Despite challenging pre-race conditions, Round 8 of the South West League went ahead as planned, and it produced some fine racing in all categories. Roy Wyle Smith was in the thick of the action and also had time to pen this report.

News from the South Staffordshire & Shropshire League


The South Staffordshire & Shropshire Cycling Clubs Road Race League is quite unique in that riders and clubs become members of the league by promoting one event on behalf of the league and they currently have 15 affiliated clubs and a host of individual members.

Cheshire Cat Entries Open Soon


KILO TO GO open entries for the 2010 Cheshire Cat cyclosportive on the 1st of November 2009. The UCI accredited Cheshire Cat takes place on Sunday 28th March, the first day of British summertime. The original Cat themed bike-ride is one of the biggest challenge rides in the UK and is recognised as the season opener for many cyclosportive riders.
