Winter Indoor Turbo Training Sessions 2015

Every Wednesday, 7:30 - 9pm, Howard School

It's that time of year again, when the clocks go back, the evenings are dark, and the cold wind and rain have truley set in for the winter.  But that doesn't mean that the riding has to stop.  Not at all....  Over the winter, we'll be hosting weekly training sessions to keep your fitness up until riding outside becomes more enticing again.  We'll even be able to help you build your strength and speed, so that you can (figuratively) hit the ground running when the season starts in spring.

Sessions are held every Wednesday at the Howard School sports hall in Rainham.  Sign on from 7:30pm, with the session starting at 8pm prompt.  Each session is about 1 our long, so we'll be all done by 9pm or so.  They cost just £3 for members, and £5 for non members.

Sessions are open to absolutely everyone, young or old, member or non-member, racing snake or weekend rider.  If you have your own turbo machine (or set of rollers) you should bring them along, but we do have turbos you can borrow if you don't.  All sessions are instructed by qualified British Cycling Level 2 Coaches, and have been divised specifically by leading experts in cycle fittness.

So what does each turbo session involve?  Well, assuming you arrive in time, bring your bike into the hall and get all set up, each session starts with a quick briefing of what we'll be going through and why it's useful.  We then go through a warmup routine (the infamous World Class Warmup), before embarking on a specific focus routine.

We might be working on your endurance, on your leg strength, or perhaps even your sprint speed.  Routines are designed to be fun and exciting, varied and engaging; effective and efficient.  No one enjoys spending hour upon hour sat on the turbo, so the routine will help you make efficient use of your time.

So join us each and every Wednesday evening over the winter.  We hope to see you all there.
