Road Race

Team Milton Keynes has been developing its road racing team over the last few years and has developed a strong squad of local road racers competing well in many of the local road race and circuit events.

In 2015 a Ladies road race team was established which has since developed well and achieved some great results in 2016.  A youth race squad was also started in 2016 to provide a development path for the youth riders to link to the adult road race squads.

The club has a strong team ethos and members work together to achieve positive results. Senior members of the club are supportive of younger or less experienced road racers and Team MK is definitely a good place to develop your abilities.

Most members live in and around Milton Keynes and we meet for training throughout the year often at Milton Keynes Bowl. On Tuesday nights during the winter we have the MK Bowl open for training.

The club puts on a number of local events including a Central Road Race League event which ensures riders gain entry to the Central Region races.  From April on-wards there are weekly evening races at the MK Bowl, Tuesdays for the LVRC Vets races and Thursdays for British Cycling Women’s and Men’s races. Events at the bowl are coordinated by the Milton Keynes Cycling Association.

Road Race events are promoted either by British Cycling – the main national organisation for cycle racing events and the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists for riders over the age of 40.  If you want to take part in any competitive events you must be a member of the relevant national.  Check their websites for membership rates and requirements

Training rides for the Race squads are organised as required mainly via the Team MK Facebook.

For the road race contacts see the contacts page under the resources menu.

Facebook: Team MK Race Squad is the closed Facebook group for the men's road race team.
