She then did the run in a new PB resulting in 6th place overall.  Barbara has been training regularly with the Team Milton Keynes supported by the club coaches.

La Grande Aventure” from Pace (Aylesbury) to Ypres (Belgium) 11 – 15 September 19

I am writing to you from a local charity in Aylesbury called Pace (http://www.thepacecentre.org/).  Pace is a children’s charity that transforms the lives of children and young people with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy.

As part of our fundraising strategy for 2019 we have a number of running, walking and cycling events planned throughout the year and we are looking to make connections with local clubs in the hope that you can help us to promote these events to your members and other contacts and encourage support and participation.

In particular, we are planning a ride “La Grande Aventure” from Pace (Aylesbury) to Ypres (Belgium) 11 – 15 September 19.  This is a cycle challenge aimed mainly at the novice to intermediate cyclist.  In order to provide people with further information about the event, and hopefully sign them up, we are hosting an information evening on 28th November. Visit our website at www.thepacecentre.org for more information.

Smart Sportswear company continues to support young, British athletes with latest sign up

Performance and recovery enhancing sportswear company, KYMIRA Sport, has signed up Team MK 19 year old triathlete Harry Hammond as a brand athlete.

As the latest sportsman to join KYMIRA Sport’s list of talented athletes, Harry will now receive vital sponsorship, expert advice as well as custom made infrared sportswear in a bid to support his aspirations for athletic achievement. After winning his first ever triathlon just last year, Harry was looking for a brand partner that could help him build his profile and support his training and development.

Harry may still be considered a ‘newbie’ to the sport, but this hasn’t stopped him from earning himself a place on the GB Age-Group Team, competing in the 2018 Gold Coast ITU Sprint Distance World Championships and the 2018 Middle Distance European Championships in Ibiza later this year.

Triathlete Amy Woodroofe - 2nd in Age Group at local Woburn Open Water Triathlon

Harry came in 1st in the 125m non wetsuit swim and Amy came 5th in the wetsuit 250m! A huge congratuations to both, especially as the water was absolutely freezing!!!

A separate success followed later in the week after both passed their RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification following an extremely tough six day course at Wolverton pool.
